Phase 3 · Node Layer 13 · The Elimination

Six manual steps.
Removed in sequence. Count drops to zero.

The manual PO workaround runs six sequential human steps per order: order review, spreadsheet entry, approval routing, manual SAP entry, error correction, and delayed supplier confirmation. At activation, the parallel layer eliminates all six in sequence — order intake, signal recomputation, supplier routing, PO generation, and bidirectional reconciliation — and the manual PO count returns to zero. No coverage gap. No dropped orders. Team members redeploy to higher-value work.

The Elimination

Watch six steps drop out.

Each step transitions through three states: manual, eliminating, eliminated. When all six are eliminated, the manual PO count is zero. Play the simulator to watch the transition run.

Elimination Simulator · Running
01

Order review by hand

Procurement staff open the queue and read each new order manually. Nothing is computed.

Manual
02

Spreadsheet entry

The PO is built in a spreadsheet before it ever touches SAP. The workaround layer for the failed system.

Manual
03

Approval routing

Every manual PO routes through a supervisor. The wait adds hours to order-to-cash that automation never accumulates.

Manual
04

Manual SAP entry

Once approved, the PO is entered into SAP by hand. Every field typed, every quantity verified, every supplier code cross-checked.

Manual
05

Error correction

Manual POs have a ~12% error rate. Every error requires a correction cycle on top of the original.

Manual
06

Delayed supplier confirmation

Once SAP accepts the manual entry, the supplier is notified — hours later than automated POs would arrive.

Illustrative model. Manual PO count reduces as each automated step is verified against real order volume. No coverage gap during transition. Zero manual POs at completion.
The Sequence

Five sequential steps. Then zero.

Elimination runs in sequence, not all at once. Each automated path is verified against real volume before the manual step is retired. No coverage gap. No dropped orders. Click any step for its role in the transition.

01

Connect

Integration begins. The layer connects to SAP Adapter, IRIS, and Pro-Panel. No orders move yet — the paths are established and validated.

Days 1–3 Integration window
02

Signal

Demand signal recomputation starts. The layer reads live order intake and IRIS telemetry, computing signals in parallel to the manual path. Manual POs continue.

Days 3–5 Parallel signal
03

Route

Supplier routing activates. The layer routes suppliers from its computed signal. Steps 01–03 (order review, spreadsheet, approval) start being eliminated as the automated path takes the volume.

Days 5–10 Manual POs begin to drop
04

PO

Automated PO generation activates. Steps 04–05 (manual SAP entry, error correction) drop out as POs issue directly from the layer. Manual PO count reaches single digits per day.

Days 10–14 Manual POs → near zero
05

Reconcile

Bidirectional reconciliation activates. Step 06 (delayed supplier confirmation) drops out as the layer notifies suppliers within seconds. Manual PO count reaches zero.

After elimination.

Before: six manual steps per PO, ~14 minutes of labour, ~12% error rate, ~160 POs per day, ~280 hours per week. After: zero manual steps, ~2s automated, <0.1% error rate, zero manual POs, labour redirected to higher-value work.

Questions

Elimination, answered.

Six manual steps get eliminated in sequence: order review by hand, spreadsheet entry, approval routing, manual SAP entry, error correction, and delayed supplier confirmation. Each step drops out as the automated path takes over the full volume.

No. Elimination runs in sequence during the activation window. Order intake first, then signal, then routing, then PO generation, then reconciliation. Each automated path is verified against real volume before the corresponding manual step is retired. No gap in coverage. No dropped orders. No surprises during transition.

They move to higher-value work: supplier strategy, exception handling, and reconciliation oversight. Automation replaces the routine, not the people. The 280 hours per week of labour that went into manual POs returns to the business as strategy and exception-handling capacity.

Order flow runs live shortly after integration completes — typically within the first weeks. Full elimination of the manual PO count follows as the automated path takes over the full volume. The count reaches zero once reconciliation is stable and every automated step has been verified.

Zero. The manual PO count returns to 0/day at the completion of elimination. Every PO flows through the automated layer until SAP resumes primary control at H1 2027. When SAP recovery completes, the layer hands back — and no manual POs come back with it.

The manual count runs to zero.

Six steps. Sequential. Verified at each stage. The parallel layer takes the volume. Team redeploys. When the count reaches zero, the workaround is gone.
